How to Go to Bursa from Istanbul?

Here, you will see all the ways about how to go to Bursa from Istanbul. Depending on your itinerary, you can choose the best route for you from the information below. If you are planning to visit Bursa for a couple of days, I highly advice rent a car option. As Bursa is not crowded like Istanbul, you will not face traffic or parking problem. Some rent a car companies enable to leave the car wherever you go. In case your plan is just spending one day in Bursa, you can use ferry option from Eminönü via Budo or Ido via Yenikapı (with vehicle). Finally, if you prefer to go Bursa directly from the Istanbul or Sabiha Gökçen airport, there are direct shuttles options for you. Let’s have a look these routes in a clear way.

3 Ways to Get to Bursa from Istanbul

1- Ferry/Seabus to Bursa

There are two ferry options where are located in Eminönü and Yenikapı. They are the fastest options as the trip takes around maximum 2 hours.( Once I arrived in 1 hour and 40 minutes. ) You can check the  timing and seats as their website has an English option also.

*Budo

The ferry port is in Eminönü which is very central area Istanbul. Once you take the ferry from Eminönü, it will take you Mudanya port. Mudanya is very cute coastal district. There are public transportation, taxi station and small “dolmuş”, shared bus, take you to the Bursaray (railway). You will be in the center around 1 hour by using public transportation. *Ido

The ferry port is in Yenikapı. The difference from Budo, they have both pedestrian and vehicle option. If you are thinking to rent a car and want to go Bursa by car fast, I highly advice this option. The final port is Güzelyalı. You will be in the center around 1 hour by using public transportation. You can check the schedule and available seats from here.

2- Bus to Bursa

Istanbul- Bursa line  is one the busiest routes and it is not hard to find a bus in anytime from early in the morning or lately night time. There are several bus companies offer different solutions according to your needs. It takes between 2.40- 3.5 hours. You can see the options from here.

These buses will take you to the Bursa coach station. After this you can use public bus or taxi. You will be in the city center around maximum 20 minutes. 3- Istanbul / Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Bursa

As Bursa is one of the prominent cities with its a great variety of business fields, you may need to go there directly from airport. There are direct shuttle busses from both airport to go to Bursa. You can check out timetable and empty seats through their website. There is an option to pay earlier or if you’re not sure about landing time, you can pay cash also.
